A man has been charged after a car flipped and hit the front of a house in Parramatta yesterday.
About 4.50pm on Tuesday, a Holden Commodore was travelling south along Marsden Street when the car hit the kerb as it travelled through a roundabout at Glebe Street.
The car slid sidewards towards a house in Lennox Street – crashing into the front – before flipping onto its side.
Emergency services attended and assisted in releasing the male rear passenger from the wreckage.
Officers from Parramatta Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene. Officers from the Crash Investigation Unit also attended and commenced an investigation.
The 34-year-old man was taken to Westmead Hospital suffering facial lacerations, a dislocated shoulder and possible spinal fractures.
The driver – a 50-year-old man – was taken to Westmead Hospital for blood/urine testing, before being taken to Parramatta Police Station.
He was charged with dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm and negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm.
He was refused bail and is expected to appear in Parramatta Local Court today.
The 41-year-old female passenger was not injured.
The house sustained structural damage and the occupants had to seek alternative accommodation for the evening.
