Wanderers team up with charity in community win

Western Sydney Wanderers fans are being encouraged to back a local community initiative and support those who need it most this Christmas.

This Sunday (December 22), Western Sydney Wanderers and their fan club the Red and Black Bloc (RBB) will team up with charity Turbans 4 Australia to host a food and toy donation drive.

The RBB said they’re proud to help give back to the western Sydney community.

“The RBB leadership team is proud to announce our collaboration with Turbans 4 Australia and Western Sydney Wanderers to help in making a difference to those doing it tough this festive season,” a spokesperson for the RBB Leadership Team said.

“Many families, especially in the western Sydney community, are facing significant challenges. Our aim is to provide essential staple food items to give back to our local community.”

The food donation drive will take place at Commbank Stadium ahead of the Wanderers match against Wellington Phoenix.

Amar Singh, President of Turbans 4 Australia, praised the RBB for their support of people who need it most this Christmas.

Amar Singh was named the 2023 NSW Local Hero for the work he does with Turbans 4 Australia.

“In this cost-of-living crisis, Australians are doing it tough and many families can not afford basic necessities,” he added.

“The grand gesture by Western Sydney Wanderers will go a long way to feed thousands of people this festive season.”

Wanderers supporters are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items and new or used toys (no soft toys) to donate.

Fans will be able to drop off their donations at allocated collection points at the main entry.
