McDonald’s Australia has commenced construction on a new restaurant in Auburn West.
Located at 311-315 Parramatta Road, Auburn, the new Macca’s is expected to inject over $6 million into the local economy and create over 170 jobs for local construction workers and restaurant employees.
“We are excited to start construction on a new restaurant in Auburn West and create 100 construction jobs, as well as a further 70 operational jobs once the restaurant opens,” Tina Thomas, Operations Manager for McDonald’s Auburn West, said.
“McDonald’s Auburn West is committed to playing an active role in the local community through providing jobs, training and development opportunities, as well as supporting local causes and groups that are important to our customers and people.
“We look forward to serving up our great tasting, great quality menu once the restaurant opens later this year.”
McDonald’s Auburn West will be fitted with modern décor and feature a dual lane ‘drive thru’, dedicated partner delivery room, McCafé and PlayPlace for customers to enjoy.
It will also be fully equipped with solar panels, a heat recovery water system and LED lighting, helping to reduce emissions and energy use in the restaurant.
The new restaurant is part of McDonald’s national commitment to open 100 new restaurants and remodel half of its existing restaurants by the end of 2025.
The news comes after a development application for the new Macca’s and an additional Starbucks, to be located next to Amart Auburn, was approved by Cumberland Council back in 2023.
McDonald’s is currently hiring a variety of crew, barista, management and maintenance roles in restaurants across Cumberland.
