This Sunday, the community is encouraged to come together to enjoy a day on the green at Carnarvon Golf Course’s Open Day.
From a sausage sizzle and a jumping castle to cart rides and a large inflatable dart game, March 2 is teeing up to be a big day of community fun at Carnarvon Golf Course.
Along with entertainment, the open day will also give visitors access to the golf course’s facilities, from 4-7pm.
For those who don’t want to miss the much-anticipated Las Vegas Penrith Panthers game against the Sharks, Carnarvon will also be streaming the match from 3.30pm.
Adam McGregor, General Manager at Carnarvon Golf Course, said the club is excited to open its doors and connect with the community.
“It’s a privilege to share it with our members, local residents, and the incredible wildlife that calls it home. We look forward to welcoming as many people as possible,” he said.
“While golf is at the heart of what we do, we are a place for everyone—families, friends, and the wider community.
“We encourage both familiar faces and first-time visitors to come down, experience the beauty of the course, and see everything we have to offer.”
The event is part of the club’s efforts to raise awareness in the community of its fight to keep the land as a golf course, after it was revealed earlier this year that the course was put on a list as a possible site for future expansion of Rookwood Cemetery.
