Police are undertaking a major manhunt following at least five aggravated break and enters in Merrylands, two of which included sexual attacks on elderly women.
Between 4am and 6.20am today (Thursday, March 6), homes on Elsinore Street, Grace Crescent, Davies Road, and Norma Place, Merrylands were broken into.
At one of the homes the man produced a knife and attempted to sexually assault one woman, at a second home he sexually touched another woman. Both women are aged in their 80’s.
Officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command established a crime scene at each location.
The State Crime Command’s Sex Crimes Squad have commenced an investigation with local detectives under Strike Force Beigy.
As investigations continue, police have released images of a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

The man is described as being tall and of slender build with dark skin, aged in his 20’s and softly spoken. The man may have sustained a slight injury that is bleeding.
State Crime Command’s Sex Crimes Squad and Cumberland Detectives are investigating these offences and encourage anyone who lives in that area to contact police if their properties have been broken into even if nothing has been stolen.
