Sandwich lovers rejoice – Bar30 & Bistro have a brand new lunch menu featuring some delicious gourmet sandwiches, along with some classic bistro favourites.
Sandwiches seem to be the talk of the town lately, with new shops and cafes opening everywhere, all with a delectable range of gourmet sandwiches and a unique twist of flavours and ingredients.
The newest spot to grab lunch is Bar30 & Bistro, located just inside PARKROYAL Parramatta on Phillip Street. Their new menu features six different Gourmet Deli Sandwiches, as well as seven House Favourites, so there’s something to suit any craving or hunger level.
A colleague and I had the pleasure of enjoying lunch at Bar30 & Bistro and sampling the new menu. I think I speak for us both when I say they were fantastic.
On entry, Bar30’s classy, elegant atmosphere transports you from bustling Parramatta to a serene sanctuary. This is a place where you can enjoy your lunch in peace.

The friendly and attentive staff furthers this high class feel, as their attention to detail and warm welcome makes you feel valued and taken care of.
The six sandwich choices are hard to choose from, including delicious flavour combinations of salami and sundried tomato, crumbed chicken and basil aioli as well as a take on the classic Reuben. After much deliberation, we decided on the Prosciutto di Parma, Grilled Veggie and Pulled Chimuchurri Beef.
Prosciutto di Parma
Anything with Prosciutto is an immediate favourite of mine, and this was no exception. I love the salty, cured taste and how well it blends with so many other ingredients.
It’s reminiscent of my time in Italy, and transports me back to those warm, fun filled days.
The Prosciutto di Parma was a delicious mix of prosciutto, house made fig jam, green olives, rocket, burrata and balsamic glaze, all on a soft ciabatta roll that felt and smelt like it was baked fresh that day. This flavour combination feels like a classic among gourmet sandwiches, and that’s for a reason.
This combination is always excellent, and a great way to live out your Italian food fantasies without taking a plane trip.

Grilled Veggie
Being vegetarian during my teens and early 20s, I’ve had many veggie sandwiches in my time – some less appealing than others. This however, was an excellent example of the standard for a veggie sandwich.
The Mediterranean mix of char grilled zucchini, capsicum, eggplant, sundried tomato, cheddar, house-made basil pesto, rocket and olive oil was flavourful and fresh. The herbed focaccia it was served on was soft and well seasoned, also smelling like it was baked fresh.
For me, the pesto was the star of the show, coming through with bold flavours and making those around it really sing. This combination of flavours speaks for itself, and is high on my list of quality veggie sandwiches.
Pulled Chimuchurri Beef
Before becoming the host of this series, I had a background in hospitality, most memorably spent at a Mexican restaurant.
I spent many a quiet shift in the kitchen listening to the chef speak about his grandmother’s chimichurri recipe that he paired with the steak. Tasting the Pulled Chimichurri Beef at Bar30 immediately transported me back to those times, this sandwich being a powerful combination of flavour and textures. Pulled beef, provolone, grilled onion, rocket and the chef’s famous chimichurri served on a ciabatta roll.
The spices were front of palate on this one, and the pulled beef was extremely tender, melting in your mouth.
Bar30 & Bistro’s new lunch menu is high quality with well thought out flavour combinations.
I can’t wait to back to try the others, and maybe some house favourites too.
