The NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA) has confirmed the presence of bonded asbestos in mulch on the Carlingford to Parramatta shared path, which is part of the Parramatta Light Rail project, in Telopea.
The site will be contained today.
These new detections of bonded asbestos take the total number of positive sites to 41. NSW Health advises bonded asbestos is low-risk to the community.
It comes after a single positive trace of bonded asbestos was identified in recycled mulch in a garden bed of the Parramatta Light Rail project also in Telopea last week.
