Application: School looking to put up increased signage
Parramatta City Council has received a Development Application (DA) from Arden Anglican School on Oxford Street in Epping to install two double-sided LED school signs.
One of the LED signs will face out onto Oxford Street and the other will face out onto Essex Street.
“The proposal is seeking Council approval to install two new pylon sign structures with LED screens at Arden Anglican School – Epping Campus,” the Statement of Environmental Effects (SEE) attached to the DA said.
“Sign 1 will be located along the Oxford Street frontage of the site, while Sign 2 will be located along the Essex Street frontage of the site.
“All signs will be inside the site boundary, clear of existing thoroughfares.”
The LED panels on the signs will operate between the hours of 6am and 9pm and will display static text in a loop sequence with no moving or flashing elements.
Outside of operation hours the panels will display a blank screen.
The signs will also be fitted with a light sensor which is connected to an automatic dimmer and adjusts its brightness depending on the amount of natural light.
The implementation of the new signage is not expected to have any adverse effects on the surrounding community.
“The proposal will not result in any adverse amenity impacts on the surrounding area and meets the objectives of Council’s controls for this type of development,” the SEE said.
“It is recommended that Council approve the application as submitted.”
Parramatta City Council will now assess the DA.
Approved: New house to be built in Wentworthville
Parramatta City Council has approved a DA for demolition of the existing dwelling and the construction of a new two-storey house with a swimming pool at 18 Page Street, Wentworthville.
The existing building on the property is a single-storey house with car parking and a secondary dwelling at the rear of the property.
The proposal has been designed to provide additional low density housing within Wentworthville.
“Providing a low-density housing form within the City of Parramatta which is compatible and sympathetic with conventional detached dwelling- houses while maintaining the existing character of residential neighbourhoods,” the Statement of Environmental Effects (SEE) attached to the DA said.
“Spreading the increase in population densities over all residential areas within the City rather than concentrating such increases in any one area.”
Approved: Ermington to receive new home
Parramatta City Council has approved a DA for the construction of a two-storey, five-bedroom house at 1 Honor Street, Ermington.
The house will also have an upper study, home theatre, living and dining room, attached garage and an outdoor alfresco dining area.
The house will go up in an existing residential area and is expected to match the character of the suburb.
“The subject site is within an existing residential area, within reasonable driving distance to local commercial, retail and transport facilities,” the Statement of Environmental effects (SEE) attached to the DA said.
“The existing road network provides easy access to all locations. The two-storey dwelling, the subject of the application, can be constructed with all services necessary and has been designed to suit site constraints and the character of the surrounding residential setting.”
Approved: Luxury home set to be built in Dundas
Parramatta City Council has approved the construction of a two-storey luxury home at 186 Kissing Point Road in Dundas.
The home will have four bedrooms, a guest room, study, laundry, two sitting rooms, an open plan kitchen, family room along with an attached alfresco and double garage.
The development is not expected to have any adverse impacts on the local community.
“It is considered that the construction of a two-storey dwelling will complement and blend with the existing and likely future character of Dundas,” the Statement of Environmental Effects (SEE) attached to the DA said.
“The proposal is not expected to have an adverse impact on the surrounding natural or built environment.”
